due to the uncertainty from day to day on FACEBOOK...with new rules and regs almost weekly for fan pages...I have decided to conduct more business here like the very popular 12 DAYS of CHRISTMAS..
I wanted to give my customers deals before the big day..not after...so Marcy of Spoil Me in Rhinestonesllc, and I came up with this idea...the 12 Days of Christmas...!!! I have lots of inventory and SAmples from Photoshoots...and my customers could use them now for the Holidays..to wear and for gifts.. YES I think my clothes are just that good.

Kim has a wonderful business selling hair accessories..bows, crochet hats, headbands, ponytail holders. She has the most beautiful little model..her daughter Kaylyn. Kim has a shop called Bow'N Crazy Hair Accessories on Etsy. Her fan page also called Bow'NCrazy Hair Accessories has well over 960 fans . Currently she is helping a fund raising event on ebay for a sweet little girl. Kim has been with me since my first ever EBIrthday Party on facebook just a month ago.

Gettin our ACT TOGETHER

This booth is the culmination of lots of blood, sweat and tears over the last year. We have struggled to learn the boutiquing ropes to say the least. We have Jen of Tinkerbear Boutique to thank for all her patience with us newbies.

We lugged gargantuan metal shelves, garage storage units painted neon pink...wrestled with the wind and hot sun. We couldn't figure out how to put the clothing in some kind of organized way so mostly it was haphazard at best and in total disarray...But

I have to give my sweet heart all the credit for the beautiful display you see here. This was our booth at the most recent Tinkerbear Boutique last Saturday at South Towne Expo.

He went to Advance Displays and Store Fixtures www.advancedisplays.com here in Salt Lake and picked all our wire racks and waterfalls, and such out for us. Then he put it all together! My hero!! my man!!! I think he did a tremendous job!!!

The creative side is mine. I really enjoy sewing. The machines don't talk back at me...well not much. They don't care if my hair is thining and falling out. They don't even care if i have the social graces of a rhino...they just keep humming with a little oil and cleaning with canned air every once in a while. They let me create something that wasn't there before..like magic little dresses, tops, pants, hairbands, jackets, shirts just appear. In fabrics...lots of fabrics in bright colors...I just love it!!

The creative part comes from my Father...a gift if you will.

The clothing in the pics are part of my spring collection apply called ROSE..cuz the print is little tiny pink roses...maybe not so creative but appropriate.

I like the modern prints with the vintage hence the cotton knit leggings and puff sleeve tops in lime green and pink floral pattern . I really loved the delicate gathering at the neckline on these sweet little tops for spring. Hopefully I'll get my granddaughter to model some of these for you and put them here and on our FACEBOOK FAN Page soon...
We've been busy sewing as you can see..my new assistant Shawna--the rotary cutting Queen and I made all of the new collection last week...phew that was a lot of work. We are ready for the upcoming boutiques around Sandy..see ya there!

As we had promised During our sales of October, November and December..the handmade booties, sleepers and blankets were finished and taken to the Humanitarian Center here in Salt Lake. There was such a need in the Tragic Events of Haiti that even tho I hadn't finished all of them, we took what was finished and noted that an 18 wheeler was being loaded at the donations site...maybe headed for Haiti.

I know it sounds childish..but I feel better knowin that someone's little sweet pea will have something clean and NEW to wear.

I remember when we were poor struggling college students with two new baby boys someone gave me handmade booties and a blanket for my sons. I remember how wonderful it felt dressing my boys and wraping them in those blankets. I thought..Wow! somebody cared enough...

We are praying and helping anyway we can as I know you are... We are sent to help others deal with their sorrows because HE cares.

Knee deep in Thread, ruffles, pompoms and fabric...yesterday went by in a Serger Whirl.

I didn't have time to poke my head out of my hole in the basement all day. I was busy making A much needed and wanted birthday outfit which didnot make it thanks to our USPS. Somehow a package sent Priority Mail which costs MORE and is suppose to get to its destination in 2-3 days was still missing and it was sent on the 2Dec this year. Go FIGURE!!!

So I was making another SnowFlake King Peasant Apron Set for one of our Dear Customers.. she was frantic so we sent it OVERNITE at another $25.00 and purchased insurance again. Now it's late at nite , this package is missing.. that's another BIG BUMMER and I'm exhausted.

Fast forward to tonite..

It appears that I missed a chance to see our outfit on TV...BIg BIG BUMMER.

Then I check my Web Analytics on my ETSY SITE...KSL has us on video.

YEP! The Wonderful Women here in UTAH put our dress Sigourney on TV and we were there with some real power UTAH SHOPS and DESIGNERS.

We want to thank SWANKY ISIS and KSL Channel 5 for putting our Name out there.

To say this was a much needed Boost to my sagging confidence is to say the least.

Well we're finally in the Shop!

It's been a nasty two weeks with the flu, another flu and then finally the coughing flu. My honey had it too and had me scared!!! But I think his BIPAP machine helped him breath.

I had to deal with my asthma after the third flu. Just let me tell you getting old is not all it's cracked up to be...but TYL we are healthy again. Just really tired. Oh did I tell you that during this ordeal I was up 14 to 16 hours a day getting orders out to shops, boutiques and online orders. Phew!!!

Enough of all that..I am creating more affordable clothing with the holidays coming and gifts and cute clothes on everyone's mind. Anyway I always think eating, cute new clothes and Santa go together.

As you can tell, I'm still stuck in the browns and yellows and greens. I just love the way they look together. I love the different textures and bet your sweet pea will love the way they feel too.

The price is great! I'll not be making a great profit but hopefully you'd get a chance to take advantage of our sale. I know PPSs can get expensive. And Ipods, and Iphones..etc.

Now before you think something is wrong with my pics..let me tell you

1. the manakin is a size 7 with some of the air let out to fit the size 3T skirt I had on hand.

2. The leggings are a size 9 months so they are a little on the short size...but it was all I had in the white mustard yellow.

3. The shirts will be out tomorrow..just didn't have any time today...making lace pettiskirts.

Everyone LOVES our lace pettiskirts. They are versatile too. You can wear them under something to make it puffy or you can add one of our Peasant Tops and make it the skirt.

This is the newest edition to our Winter/holiday collection. We're calling this our Twilite--Lime Sherbert Ballerina.

It's a babydoll top with a tulle skirt that has knot ties in the back and the ruffle pants with a row of ruffles around the bottom. This is one of our Ballerinas from the NutCracker but because it's miami and all..it's now! I just love the way this creation turned out! This would make for some great Christmas Pics. I know that no one else will have one just like this..

Are Boutiques Goin out of STYLE

We were invited to a little Boutique in a very small southern Utah Towne named Santa Quin.
It's a quaint little place nested between rowing hills and wide open plaines. Lots of county. Lots of vintage feel. The boutique was set up in a darling old gym..complete with wood floors and thick glass windows. The tiny stage was filled with the cutest intertainers..from 4 years old to early 20's. We had the best time.

Not as much traffic this year as the last three years the older crafters would tell us. But the visitors were polite and loved handmade. Something about the touch of handmade?? Something about the feel of a dress that was lovingly made?? What is it??? You can't put a name to it, but you just want to touch it.

I was glad to see the handmade leather arm cuffs, the beautiful handmade quilts, the darling hair bows, all unique and made by hand. This is what America was built on...handmade. That's why Indian Handmade Baskets are worth thousands of dollars, hundreds of years after they were made. That's why hand made paintings are worth Millions. That's why you really love it when someone makes something just for you. They are literally giving a little of themselves.

Someone said the most precious gift you can ever give someone is your time. Well that's why you love handmade and can't put a name to it. Someone spent their precious time to make it and this selfless gift of love is infused in that handmade dress, quilt, wooden table, or hand painted wall hanging. Your spirit recognizes this even if you don't.

I wondered as I've gone from one boutique to another and heard the same sad story, that boutiques are not what they use to be, if it is the end of an era of HANDMADE. I don't think so..I believe that people still love the feel and touch of handmade, handcrafted items. Think of it as moveable art--clothes I mean.

We are so excited around here. My honey and I have been shopping for

really cute fabrics, trims, etc. We've discussed ideas for holiday themes

and made our sketches. We've kinda evolved this whole Christmas in Miami

kinda thing. I fell in LOVE with Miami when we took our Cruise earlier this year.

The weather is soooo nice, the people were so nice..the whole city is SO

Nice. Where have you been all my life...Miami ??? WE LOVE YOU.

Sooo...my new winter/holiday collection reflects the bright colors,

I'm sewing and creating and singing...singing is a good thing!

I made the mistake of drawing my dgs a

picture of a treasure map. Why is this a

mistake....well several hours later and several lbs of

dirt later he had dug up 1/2 of the back yard lookin

for it. I laughed so hard my face ached.

New news at our Etsy Shop

1.We've started somethings new in our Etsy Shop...Plucking A Heart from our list and Gifting them with one of our Outfits for under $35.00 free. Yep we're PIF to some one who likes our shop. Kinda different not our usual approch. But hey that's what Sweet Peas do..different.
So this week end we will put the number of Hearts in Random.org and come up with a number.

2. We've finally figured out how to say in three little words what our creations are all about.
My muse is a mix of my 6 darling granddaughters..so in three words I'll try to describe the joy of my life..

Hopefull not corny..just the facts mam... We wanted to let you know how much thought and creativity goes into each of our creations so we focused on the Blossom part of the Sweet Pea not the part you eat.. the Peas ya know..

with our fashions she'll blossom anywhere she goes.

My honey helped me figure out these TRIGGER WORDS...never heard of them before but I like them. Short Sweet and to the POINT.

3. CHRISTMAS FASHIONS

We are so excited to start creating our Holiday FASHIONS...I love the NutCRACKER Ballet...had an opportunity to go to see it in Sacramento. Fasinated by the clack of the those pointy toe shoes..who knew they made noise??? Any way the first of our creations is for Clara.
The heroine of the story. Love those ruffles on her nite gown sooo...we switched things up a bit and put them on our A-Line Peasant Top with matching ruffled pants. We did Chocolate Carmel Candy and Vanilla Carmel Candy colors. You can add any color accents and they will look fab plus you can use them for any holiday or special occasion...not tied into the whole Christmas Scene. They would look great with either green or maroon red colors.
They are the first and the ruffles did take one whole day to sew...rolled edges and ruffling even with my sewing attachments. Each look took lots of fabric. So two days to make and a lifetime to enjoy.

We have been sew busy around here...can I tell ya We're lovin it. We're doing boutiques see..we r so new to all this that we sometimes stick out like a sore thumb. How do you market? What do we market? Should this go here or there? How many do we make for this show? Will these sell better at the shop or at this boutique? We are a little shy so what do we say? Mostly we just say hello how is the boutique today? How old are your children? We've been reading good articles from the Etsy Forum..but when we're out in the public we usually forget. Scared I guess. But everyone says nice things about my garments I make. We've made an occasional sale. Til now! We've met some amazing people. Good, Honest, Hardworking Business Women who have graciously shared their time and talent to help us get a start. I'd like to spotlight them today! They deserve it!

1. Jen Morton of Tinkerbear Boutique

This gorgeous lady of two adorable kids has taken us under her wings and helped us get into the boutique route. She has endured our humble attempts to set up our booth with nothing but a skinny mini bakers rack and a sports equipment storage thingy all painted bright pink and green. My dozens of oneofakind clothing and a disjointed booth. I'm sure the other vendors wanted us out... I can recall some whispering in hushed tones and pointing to our display and she took them aside and later they returned and nothing was said.
Some women in their single minded attempt to sell will do some pretty amazing things including
..offering a cheaper price if you'll take the items you just purchased back and then they'll give you 50% off at their booth.
..telling potential customers that their quality product is better than others at the boutique
..standing in front of your booth and yelling loudly.."Come to my booth we have designer fabric!
..going to a competitors booth and making a fuss over how shabby the booth is and the products.
You get the gist...WELL Jen makes it clear before the Boutique there will be none of these shinanagains. And the nice thing is that has been the case with all her boutiques. As a matter of fact there is more helpfullness and sharing. Vendors sending customers to someone else's booth when they truly don't have what they are lookin for...

2. Heidi and Cortney of Ooh La La on Etsy

These twoUtah Business Women are amazing! They have been such a support willing to share their business expertise, their models, photographer, and their time to help out my honey and I as we have struggled to set up our business. Some how in all of our clumsiness, they saw talent and have graciously helped us develop our clothing line. They have promoted our business at hugh Expos around Salt Lake here in Utah. Their unselfishness and genuine desire to help out others gets our Heavenly Helper award. I'm sure that they must have been sent by the good Lord above in answer to our prayers. We want to thank both of these fine ladies.

This wonderfully talented Mom and Professional Singer has a great shop she started in her Arts Studio. Kids are king around there with singing, dancing and art lessons. She loves children and it shows in all she does. They had a big grand opening last Saturday the 26th of September. There were lots of people there and lots to do and see plus she had drawings for free gifts. She has set up a 1st class boutique with beautiful woodwork and very posh booths for crafters like myself. The crafters in the boutique have beautiful handmade items and NEW POSH wear for Moms as well. For her love of children and willingness to help the HANDMADE MOVEMENT we give her our Heavenly Enthusiatic MOM award.

See gramma Wozzie...I'm just like you. Can't see without my goggles either. I am a transformer kid...one time I'm the robot, next thing I'm the kid...changin all the time is normal for me.

This was my first photo shoot,complete with dress changes, lots of people at Garner Village to be sure, very warm day and a strange woman pointing this black thingy at me telling me how cute I am. My mommy was not pickin me up...she kept telling me how cute I am too...well darn it I know I' m CUTE. and i need to be held and loved on...when I want it.

Well anyway..I really did like the SnowWhite costume...I didn't want to take it off. I found this itty bitty apple and Mom said I couldn't eat it..just pretend.

The warm thingy...crochet jacket will be great when it's cold...but not NOW!

I really liked the little crawly thingys on the bridge. Did I show U???

The best part was when I could get in Mom and Dads arms again..this model thingy is really hard work. I'm just a little girl u know. xxoo Brynlee

Been down in the sewing room all week. Creating some thing new for all of you! But here's whats been happnin in our world:

1. We've been accepted in a Brick and Morter Shop in Ogden...The Simple Gifts Boutique...

WOOOHOOO! To say I'm excited is to say the least...this has been a dream of mine since I was 5 years old and cut up my new pajamas to make something ......anything..... on my Brand NEw Hand Crank Singer Sewing Machine that Santa had left for me under the Christmas Tree. That would have been 54 years ago..but the memory of it is as fresh today as if it had happened yesterday. Thank You LORD..for unanswered and answered Prayers.

2. We've been invited to the Womens Expo in Orem...a celebration for Women. It's the second weekend in September. Last year 10,000 participants and they expect more this year. Need I say more...what a blessing. Thank you LORD

3. My sweet Nephew will be with us 1 more year. This was definitely a miracle..thank you LORD.

4. My health situation is being rectified with a wonderful new Dr. She found out my cholesterol and triglyerids were high enough to KILL me..too much stress...now I'm on medicine and feel much better. Back in April I tearfully resigned from my job at the hospital because my honey's health was not improving...didn't even realize I had any problems. Again..thanks Lord for answered Prayers.

Guess you could say...I owe everything to my Lord. I started to write a blog complaining but when I thought about my lack of sales and $$ it just didn't seem very important. LOOK what He has done for ME.. ANSwERED My PRAYERS... I don't usually go on about my faith just a little music here and a little word there But Today I just had to THANK HIM for all he has done in my life. hugs rozzi

Our very own Laikyn won Best Casual Wear in Pagent

Yes! You did read this right...our own Sweet Pea is the WINNER! This outfit designed and sewn in our shop won Best of the whole Beauty Pagent Show for Casual Wear! The Mom, who is really terrific, asked if I could redo the colors in pinks, greens and blacks from my red, white and black ladybug peasant apron pants set. She was pleased with the results. I was pleased with the results. The Judges were pleased with our results.

I have to admit, never having a daughter of my own this means the world to me. I love the idea that a mom loves her daughter and wants to show them off in cute clothes. I love mommy's taking pride in their children. As an RN it was often my sorrow to see what happens when mommy's hurt their little girls. So for me this love that mommy's lavish on their children is a breath of HEAVEN. Can anything be sweeter than a darling little one dressed so cute that everyone goes ..awwww! I don't think so...so here's to our Handmade Heavenly Angel...Laikyn's mom! CONGRADULATIONS Dana and Laikyn and HIP HIP HOORAY!!! hugs rozzi

Come see our newest shop Recycle Momma . I've put all of my Seaside Sandy Collection in one spot. Due to some confusion, it became necessary to place all of our ECO-FRIENDLY and GREEN clothing in a new shop just for this and keep our Designer Fabric creations in RozzisSweetPea's shop separate.

So what is a Garment Make Over ?

We take good quality fabric from bedding( quilts, pillowcases, sheets, curtains), old garments( larger shirts, jackets, coats, jeans), vintage sales ( old dressmakers fabrics from 80's), estate sales and blend them with other fabrics. Some old and some new making a new garment. The prices will be lower but the Quality will remain the same, the highest quality in fabrics and construction. All recycled fabric is prewashed and checked for flaws or imperfections due to wear. We then use only the best parts to reconstruct our garments.

Preview First in my Kindergarden Diva collection for 2009

Soft orange woven plaid with a vivid orange and black floral, this dress has a lot of sophistication.

Just right for a littlest Diva going off to Kindergarden. With black boots and a black or orange T this little Knot Jumper is just right for colder days ahead. The nice thing about the Knot Jumper is the KNOT! I made the straps wider and longer. Why? The wider strap makes it School dress code appropriate..must be wider than 2 inches. Longer? you can get more wear out of the jumper as she grows taller and needs more shoulder room.

My Kindergarden Diva is sizes 2T,3T and 4T.

I only have a few yards of both the Orange woven plaid and the Floral fabrics so I can only make a few more. Why? I actually purchased both fabrics last year during after winter sales.
